Boiling Water Reactor Hydrogen Water Chemistry Predictive Methods
APTECH reviewed methods of determining the amount of additional hydrogen needed in the feedwater to protect the recirculation piping system from intergranular stress corrosion cracking. The effectiveness and costs of the standard mini test were compared to three methods of APTECH's hydrogen water chemistry predictive analysis. APTECH's research into many relevant issues, including protection of reactor internals, electrochemical potential, impurities, and specific types of corrosion are described in detail.
