Sunnyvale, California, March 1, 1998: On October 9, 1996, the NRC issued a request for information to 107 utilities pursuant to 10 CFR 50.54(f) regarding adequacy and availability of design basis information. Most of these utilities are currently performing 50.54 work either by their in-house staff or through contractors.
Aptech Engineering Services, Inc. (APTECH) provides third-party review of utilities' efforts. The objectives of our third-party review are to ensure:
- Long-term accuracy of the UFSARUFSAR commitments are properly reflected in the plant proceduresDesign changes resulting from plant modifications have been properly reflected in the UFSARAppropriate information contained in the original FSAR, the NRC SER, and Technical Specifications are properly reflected in the UFSAR
- A quality validation is performed to fulfill the commitments made in the utility's response to the NRC's "Request for Information Pursuant to 10 CFR 50.54(f) Regarding Adequacy and Availability of Design Basis Information"
