Earlier in 2003, we were featured on the program Court TV. This time, it was the History Channel. APTECH Featured on the History Channel We worked with Actuality Productions in Los Angeles to produce the PEPCON story and APTECH's role in the post-accident investigation. APTECH staff members Dr. Geoffrey Egan and Dr. Kimble Clark were interviewed and featured in the program. The One-hour long show was titled Modern Marvels Engineering Disasters and included the PEPCON accident and four other accidents. The other accidents were the Mianus River Bridge collapse on the Connecticut Turnpike in 1983; the Ocean Ranger oil drilling platform capsizing on the Grand Banks off Newfoundland in 1982; the Johnston Pennsylvania flood in 1889; and the Payne Stewart Learjet crash in 1999. The emphasis on this program was how improper engineering design and inadequate operation and maintenance contributed to these five disasters. Later in 2004, APTECH appeared on Court TV a second time. Again, in the program titled Extreme Evidence, APTECH’s investigation of the propane explosion in the Humberto Vidal building in the Rio Piedras section of San Juan, Puerto Rico in 1996 will be featured. This explosion claimed 35 lives and was one of the worst accidental building gas explosions ever. The gas supply company eventually admitted responsibility and provided $75 million to APTECH's client. LMNO Productions from Encino, California came to APTECH to interview APTECH staff members Jeff Grover, Richard Schreiber, and Dr.Kimble Clark for this program. © 2005, APTECH Engineering Services, Inc.
