EXPERIENCE
- Principal PGBU Leader, Generation Production Assurance — Boiler Fleet Team
Leader; Pressure Parts Team. Responsible for: 1) As a sub-team leader to provide
business plan support to achieve goals including cost and reliability for the boiler
fleet and 2) Providing and coordinating all boiler pressure part-engineering services
to the fossil fleet from identification of equipment needs, engineering of cost-
effective countermeasures, and installation support.
- Senior PGBU Leader PTF/PCU — Responsible for supporting two plants as Boiler
System Team Leader and general piping and mechanical system expert. Boiler
Team leadership included all business plan priorities including safety, reliability, best
operating practices, standards, and cost management to meet the goals. As a plant
representative on system-wide boiler fleet, the team provided support for all units
including troubleshooting/failure analysis and countermeasures.
- Maintenance Supervisor (Supt.) PTF/PCU — Responsible for all plant maintenance,
mechanical, electrical, and instrument/control. Responsible for budgeting, planning
and implementation of daily and overhaul activities to support the plant mission.
These included availability, heat rate, and O&M cost of maintenance for shift and
non-shift maintenance work. Team coaching of Self-Directed work teams for a fully
engaged workforce that meets or exceeds goals of performance for 1995 & 1996.
Achieved O&M cost reduction s of 25% in 1 year while maintaining goals of
reliability, availability, and heat rates for all four units.
- Senior Engineer PTF/PCU — Plant Technical Department (Prod. Assurance) —
Support plant goals including primary assignment to two major plant overhauls as
Overhaul Manager during planning and budget ($40 million) stage through
development of specifications and award major contracts. Project engineer
assignment during overhaul to assure compliance to specifications and achieve
reliability and performance goals.
- Technical Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent for a Fossil Plant —
Responsible to monitor all plant performance indicators and to analyze information
and data using all available technology to identify and implement improvements in
unit availability, reliability, maintainability, and efficiency. These were all to set and
meet business plan objectives. Develop and manage department budget and
establish standard processes for critical plant equipment for run, repair, or replace
decisions. Develop reliability forecasts and plan, budget, and implement
countermeasures with maintenance team.
- Power Resources Senior Engineer, Design Coordination — Design Coordination for plant modifications for 8000 MW of fossil equipment.
- Area Construction Supervisor — Steam Generator replacement for two 700 MW PWR units at a nuclear plant.
- Boiler Construction Superintendent — PMR/PMT four 800 MW units.
- Resident Engineer — 2.4 MGD Multi-stage flash evaporator and other projects including US department of Interior Office of Saline Water contracts in the US Virgin Islands, Key West, Florida, and Grand Bahama Island.
- Performance Engineer — Fossil performance design, drum boiler furnace circulation design, and sizing of all components to meet performance guarantees including superheater/reheater surfaces for various fuels.
