Thoroughly familiar with all methods of corrosion control, inspection, testing and
evaluation on petroleum production transporting, and treating facilities. Also very
familiar with advanced corrosion management technology applications, materials
specifications for critical service and downhole design vis. corrosion issues for critical
sour gas wells. Good working knowledge of cathodic protection, pipeline fitness-forpurpose
assessment techniques, and integrated approaches to pipeline integrity
management.
Responsible for the design and implementation of numerous corrosion control
programs in large Western Canadian oil and gas fields. For six years supervised all
aspects of corrosion control and materials engineering projects for one of the largest
petroleum producers in Canada. Has received management training and managed up to
four engineers and four technologists attached to the Corrosion and Materials
Engineering Group.

EXPERIENCE
- Director. Providing professional corrosion, inspection, and materials consulting
services to the oil and gas industry. Projects have included:
- Design and evaluation of corrosion control programs, including electrochemical testing and other advanced techniques, for all areas of petroleum production.
- Water quality evaluations for injection and disposal systems.
- Preparation of complete material specifications for high H2S systems and water injection facilities.
- Design, supervision and evaluation of cathodic protection systems.
- Internal inspection of pressure vessels and tanks.
- Prepared numerous, AEUB approved Pipeline Operating and Maintenance Manuals.
- Evaluation of major in-line-inspection (ILI) program for pipeline company.
- Supervised all aspects of corrosion and materials engineering for Petro-Canada’s production facilities. Improved the effectiveness of corrosion control programs despite considerable increases in workload due to acquisitions and organizational changes with minimal staff increases. Implemented procedures to include corrosion and material considerations at the design stage of new facilities. Provided inspection and corrosion training for new employees and instructed on numerous “in-house” courses and seminars.
- Optimized corrosion control programs. Performed visual inspections. Prepared sour service materials specifications. Justified and participated in research projects involved in electrochemical testing. Improved cathodic protection maintenance programs. Optimized tubular goods inspection procedures by improving quality at reduced costs.
- Conduct visual and NDE (i.e,. UT, RT, MPI and DPI) inspections on petroleum and nuclear facilities, and aircraft components. Specialized in computerized ultrasonic corrosion control surveys on sour gas facilities. Previously attained CGSB Level II - UT and Level I - RT.
