Experienced in metallurgical engineering, weld inspection, material selection, failure analysis, remaining life assessment, mechanical testing, metallographic preparation and evaluation techniques, and computer programming.
Recent work includes remaining life evaluation of steam pipes, service water lines, and condenser tubes in electrical generating power plants; failure analysis, including repair procedures of electrical supports in a nuclear power plant; failure analysis of a sewage waste pump bearing; and evaluation of liquid metal embrittlement crack problems in the weld joints of stainless steel piping. Principal engineer in preparing the APTECH/EPRI computer code used to predict the creep life behavior of furnace tubes. Extensive experience using the replication techniques for in situ metallurgical inspection and evaluation of various power plant components, including high energy steam lines, valves, fittings, and headers.
