Mr. Tran is currently a Process Engineer, assisting many clients in development and implementation of asset management programs in chemical plants, refineries, and gas plants. He has overall responsibility for data review and APTECH’s Consequence of Failure methodology that is part of APTECH’s risk directed inspection program. He performs data management, calculations, and PFD’s and P&ID’s interpretation. Mr. Tran also coordinates with metallurgical and corrosion specialists on Likelihood of Failure analysis.
Mr. Tran has assisted in development and implementation of APTECH’s RDMIP software and procedures, consequence modeling inspection review and risk analysis of fixed equipment, dynamic equipment, and piping circuits. Related work has included the updating and development of specific inspection plans for individual equipment items on risk-based inspection. He has provided technical service and troubleshooting to local computer network within the office and has developed Aptechtexas.com web page and several Access programs in maintenance of existing analyzed data.
Recent projects include:
- Evaluation the Risk Based Inspection (RBI) for fixed equipment and associated piping in the Slaughter Gas Plant, Mallet CO2 Removal, and Cedar Lake Facilities for Altura Energy LTD at the Mallet Complex in Sundown, Texas by using the API RBI 98 software, as well as the API 581 RBI methodology.
- Implement RBI programs for fixed equipment using APTECH’s RDMIP software and methodology on different units at:
- Williams Refinery, Memphis, TN
- Marathon Oil, Ashland, KY
- Condea Vista Ethylene Plant, Lake Charles, LA
- EOTT, La Port, Houston, TX
- Huntsman Chemical, TX
- Development of software and consequence modeling
