Mr. Traylor has over 35 years experience in oil and gas design and production with
major design and operating companies. Prior to the merger between Exxon Corporation
and Mobil Corporation, Mr. Traylor gained 25 years experience with Exxon. He
remained with ExxonMobil 3 years after the merger. He has served in design and
project management capacities for various domestic production facilities. His expertise
lies in the areas of production facilities, gas treating, gas processing, equipment design,
and project management.
Mr. Traylor’s background also includes six years experience in designing oil and gas
production equipment with a major engineering and construction company, six years
experience with a major petrochemical manufacturing company in process design and
operations supervision, and six years with a major food processing company as a
production department head and maintenance superintendent.
EXPERIENCE SUMMARY
Gas Plant – Experience included project management and design review for grass
roots cryogenic expander gas plant on the Texas Gulf Coast using a Houston based
engineering firm. Also, extensive experience occurred in revising existing absorption
type gas plants, including compressor modifications, new compressor installation
designs. amine treating, dehydration and fractionation. Many projects for trouble
shooting and modifying old existing gas processing plants including refrigeration
systems. This type activity required day-to-day operations knowledge and close
work with plant personnel. Installed three 3500 kw generators in existing plant in
East Texas, using electrical engineering contractor for electrical design and different
contractor for civil and mechanical design.
Production – Experience in both modification of existing facilities and the design of
grass roots facilities in production facilities, as well as project management in the all
areas of gas production, oil production, saltwater gathering, and disposal systems.
Beginning at the wellhead, experience included design and installation of all
production facilities, including gathering systems, separation and metering,
pumping, compressing and storage facilities.
Procurement, Contracting, Construction and Startup for gas plant and production facilities – Project management activities included specifying and overseeing procurement, preparing and bidding jobs for construction, and coordinating with the company construction foreman for actual completion. Although coordination with operations personnel occurred throughout a project, specific training classes for operations personnel were prepared and conducted approximately one week before startup.
Risk Management activities- Participated in initial round and second round of HAZOP activities for the company on several major plants – defined as PSM facilities. Utilized a knowledge based system for reviewing all mechanical and safety systems within the operating plants. For all new facilities, a HAZOP review was conducted before operator training and startup.
Oil and gas production and processing facilities, both offshore and onshore – Experience included working for more than six years with Brown & Root Engineering in process design and project management. Major projects included Mobil Stratford B platform (North Sea), Aramco Khurais gas lift oil field (Saudi Arabia), PEMEX processing facilities for Bay of Campeche platforms (Mexico), and many U.S. Gulf of Mexico platforms. In addition, conducted design work for PEMEX in Mexico City through a joint venture between Brown and Root and Projectos Marinos. This work entailed training many of the Mexican engineers.
Teaching and Presentations – Taught classes in the Exxon system for newer engineers in the areas of “Contracting” and “Pressure Vessels” for approximately 8 years. Listed on the Exxon internal list as subject matter expert for pressure vessels. Published two articles in Exxon’s internal magazine on “Variable Speed Compressor” (1983) and “High Pressure Gas Gathering System for Hawkins Field” (1989).
