Responsible for the World-wide sales and marketing of Tar Urethane pipe coating materials using direct sales and distributor personnel. Successfully negotiated the order for Tar Urethane field joint coatings on the Esso/Chad Pipeline Project. Formulated and implemented sales and application training programs for foreign affiliates in The Netherlands, France, United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, Ecuador, Singapore, South Africa, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, India and Indonesia. Designed multi-pipeline rehabilitation program for P T Badak in Bontang, Indonesia. Designed in-plant pipe coating facility for Corinth Pipeworks, Corinth, Greece to coat a 125 Km pipeline to be installed in India. Successfully negotiated contract to provide Tar Urethane to rehabilitate a 650 Km Pipeline in Kazakhstan.
Formulated and implemented worldwide marketing plans for the sale of 100% solids coal tar urethane pipe coating. Successfully completed the ADNOC - Habshan project in the UAE using coal tar urethane for plant piping. Successfully completed negotiations with Fluor Daniel to supply tar urethane on the CPC rehabilitation project to Bechtel/Enka JV in Kazakhstan. Supplied tar urethane on the Transecuador Pipeline rehabilitation project at Balo. Supervised and trained the field application crews for both projects. Supervised the design of a new $3.0 million pipe coating facility for Argomix in Moscow and the secret nuclear cities in Russia. Negotiated worldwide consulting contract with the U.S. subsidiary of an Italian pipe mill to provide technical assistance on coating problems.
Served as consultant to the Carboline Company, Corrpro Companies, Inc., Corinth Pipeworks, Brown & Root and Fluor Daniel on the use of 100% solids elastomeric urethanes, high solids VOC compliant coatings for use as tank coatings and linings, pipe coating and failure analysis. Assisted Fluor Daniel in the preparation of pipe coating, testing and evaluation of project specifications for the Esso/Chad and Caspian Pipeline Consortium projects. Prepared coating and lining specifications for the Vnukovo and Areoflot jet fuel multiple storage facilities at five Moscow Airports. Submitted a similar proposal for the remaining 160 International Russian Airports through ACI Europe. Qualified Coal Tar Urethane as a rehabilitation coating for a 285 Km project with the State Owned Oil Company of Georgia. Wrote specification for the rehabilitation of a 130 Km above ground oil pipeline and tank farms for the Azerbaijan International Operating Company.
Wrote specifications and qualified coatings for the State Water Authority of Jordan, LNG storage tanks at Jordan Petroleum and AQABA Loading Wharf at Aqaba, Jordan.
Wrote specifications, qualified coatings and selected contractors to internally coat two 275,000 gallon bolted potable water tanks at Dresser Industries, Houston, Texas. Performed Project Management and Inspection services. Assisted in the design of a cathodic protection system for both tanks.
Principal investigator concerning coating failures on two major international pipeline projects. Wrote and submitted rehabilitation specification to repair 450 miles of 32" OD pipe on the Bolivia - Brazil pipeline. Assisted in the preparation, submission and evaluation of specifications for the rehabilitation and new construction of pipeline and other facilities of the Water Distribution system for the City of Houston, Texas.
Formulated and implemented plans for the introduction of two new 100% solids pipeline coatings utilizing five domestic and four international representatives. Secured a $1.5 million contract from the United States Government to coat the world's largest diameter (252“ OD) pipe. Secured preferred supplier positions with seven South American pipeline companies to supply rehabilitation coatings with a value in excess of $750,000 annually. Wrote and produced a 45 minute training video covering the use of urethane pipe coatings.
Formulated and implemented marking plans to introduce a new urethane pipeline coating. Marketing plans implemented using 125 domestic sales representatives and 35 international affiliates. Supervised all field-testing programs and product demonstrations. Secured preferred supplier positions in Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Algeria, and numerous domestic engineering and pipeline companies.
Performed all functions as Chief Executive Officer. Formulated and introduced a new environmentally responsible temporary storage coating for tubular products.
